Health Care Professionals attached to the Practice

Health Visiting Team

The Health Visitor for under 5 year olds can be contacted on 01273 242225.

Their prime function is the promotion of good health, health education, advice and support and the prevention and detection of ill health. They advise on matters relating to family and child health. They assess children’s development and undertake parentcraft teaching and health education work.

The Health Visitor for the Elderly advises on health promotion and the needs of the elderly. They can be contacted on 01273 601039.

Community Nursing Team
We have a team of Community Nurses attached to the Practice.  They will provide care for the housebound, either because of disability or following recent discharge from hospital.  You can get in touch with them by telephoning Moulsecoomb Clinic on 01273 260010 between 9amd and 4.30pm.  At the weekends and out of hours you can contact them on 01273 693600.

Community Midwife
Ruth Awati is our community midwife attached to the surgery.  She will share the care of pregnant women with the doctors.  She sees patients at the Tarner Children's Centre.  You can contact her on 01273 296700.

Counsellor
Therese Paterson is our Practice Counsellor.  She is part of the Community Mental Health Team.  If your GP feels that you might benefit from seeing her then they will refer you.

Phlebotomist
Blood samples are taken at the request of your GP by our Phlebotomist, Lorraine.  Appointments should be booked at reception and are usually available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Substance Misuse Community Liaison Nurse
Sue Tyhurst is our Substance Misuse Community Liaison Nurse.  A number of our patients, and others referred to the Practice, are supported in detoxification programmes.
